Khari Bodrick Foundation
The purpose of Bodrick Scholarship Award is to assist motivated, driven college entrepreneur's/entrepreneurial teams and future business leaders. Khari believes that the generation of today's students are the future employers of tomorrow. Entrepreneurs also help drive change with innovation, where new and improved products enable new markets to be developed.
If you are a college student/recent college graduate that currently runs a small business or have a small business idea, see below for the instructions and criteria for having the opportunity to be granted the Bodrick Scholarship Award.
The Scholarship award has been paused for the 2023 year.
I. Criteria:
- Applicants must demonstrate high ambition and desire to be an entrepreneur or business owner.
- Applicants must have/had a GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Applicants must submit a 250 word essay describing the business venture, what makes it unique, and what the $1,000 can do for the business.
- Applicant must live within the continental United States.
- This award will be funded annually by the Khari Bodrick Foundation and a different award winner will be selected each year.
II. Supporting documents Needed:
- Resume
- 250 Word essay
- College Transcript
- One letter of recommendation- This can be from a college department instructor or director familiar with your work, personal reference, or community/ or entrepreneur.
III. Allowable Costs:
The scholarship must be used for purposes which reflect the focus and mission of the Khari Bodrick Foundation. These costs include but not limited to:
- Travel- For the purpose of attending conferences for professional development.
- Patents or copy writing expenses.
- Funding for materials/products needed to grow the business.
IV. Unallowable Costs:
Scholarship funds may not be used to support:
- Non-related business needs for personal gain such as trips, personal interests, etc.
V. Review Process:
Applications and supporting materials will be reviewed and scored by an independent panel of reviewers to convene after the closing date for applications.
Once the application displayed below has been completed, please send a professional resume, a 250 word essay, official/unofficial transcript, and one recommendation letter to thekharibodrickfoundationgmail.com. The recommendation letter can be from a college department instructor or director familiar with your work, personal reference, or community/ or entrepreneur. Once the email is sent, the application will be considered final and will be reviewed by a panel of judges.
